Mike Lata and Adam Nemirow opened FIG in 2003, and the Ansonborough restaurant continues to be a top destination for pristinely executed plates in Charleston. Go for innovative takes on seasonal produce, like the fall salad with a young ginger vinaigrette, and always opt for the chicken liver pâté or the ricotta gnocchi topped with lamb bolognese. Make a reservation far in advance for one of the white-clothed tables. Secret tip: the bar is first come first serve :)

FIG is AMAZING!!!!! I mean Wow, a true culinary masterpiece. I really had no idea food could be this good. This is a farm to table very creative, gourmet restaurant, but don't let the exotic ingredients scare you, it is a meal you will talk about after and you will not be disappointed - Foodie heaven! Make reservations ASAP exactly one month in advance is what I recommend as that is as far as they go out otherwise you will get a late seating if at all.

Acronym for Food is Good. I hear people say all the time this is the best restaurant in town. It is slighty more expensive and I would recommend making a reservation

Downtown Charleston. Owned by the same folks as The Ordinary. Reservations usually need to be made well in advance unless you can get a seat at the bar.
