Buzzard Rock via Tuscarora Trail is a 9.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Strasburg, VA (about 15 miles from the cottage). It features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.

Buzzard Rock offers a 3.8 mile out-and-back trail that takes an average of about 2 hours to complete. It's moderately challenging, but a great adventure for families. Parking can be limited, so plan to get there early and pets are welcome on a leash!

(Front Royal, VA) If you're looking for hiking, this is a great 2-hour, moderate-difficulty trail that's close by. You'll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views at the halfway point while looking down thousands of feet to the Shenandoah River. Go to Alltrails.com for info, but I recommend downloading the Alltrails app. It will tell you everything and show you where you are on the trails. After the hike, stop at Box Office Brewery in Strasburg on the way out for a beverage and a bite. This was a cool old movie theater converted into a brewery and restaurant.

Great views within the first 2 miles, so you don’t have to do the full 7.4 out and back. Arrive early as parking is limited.
