Great hiking right around the corner. Great morning hike along the bluffs east to ditch plains or go west into town. You can see the old military bunks.

Shadmoor State Park offers hiking, biking, and birdwatching. Shadmoor State Preserve Trail is a 2.5 mile easy loop that offers great views of the ocean. The trail is dog and kid friendly. Parking is available at the trail head.

If you decide to make the trek out to Montauk - which I highly recommend if you have the time to - be sure to stop by Shadmoor for a unique nature walk down a sandy trail leading to the top of the Montauk Bluffs (aka. giant cliffs on the beach). The view and experience are unforgettable.
