The surf shops in Torquay are great, but make sure you check out the outlet shops on Baines Cres. Throughout the year they have massive discounts on wetsuits, clothing, skiing gear, bathers etc.

The cheaper version of the Rip Curl store around the corner! Plenty of surf shops in this area for all your surfing needs! (The outlet stores are on Baines Crescent).
