Saturdays, the tavern hosts a club and performance night called Duckie that’s been running here for more than 20 years. It delivers boozy indie pop and disco and has some of the best queer performances in London. They champion feminist acts and queer performance art, and the crowd has come to expect high standards. The shows always deliver. Another party worth looking out for here is Meat—a predominantly, but not exclusively, male night for bearded fellas. It attracts a good-looking bunch, with ironic go-go and occasional drag shows. They play a mix of disco and house, so despite being for the blokes it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
