The entire stretch of the Big Rapids Riverwalk covers around 3.5 miles beside the picturesque Muskegon River, connecting the city's downtown area and numerous parks. This outdoor attraction in the city is accessible to everyone, which means you can head there with your loved ones for a morning or afternoon stroll with ease. The trail is filled with picnic areas, fishing platforms, bike racks, and benches on both sides, as well as a 250-feet wooden bridge that you can cross. It's a perfect place for hiking, swimming, or biking during the summer months. On the northern end of the Big Rapids Riverwalk, a pathway gives you access to the White Pine Trail State Park, offering another area to hike and discover.

The Big Rapids Riverwalk travels alongside the scenic Muskegon River and connects downtown Big Rapids with several recreational amenities, including Hemlock Park, Northend Riverside Park, and Swede Hill Park. The paved pathway includes four fishing platforms, the trail's biggest draw; other outdoor attractions such as canoeing, tubing, and picnicking are also available nearby. On its northern end, the trail connects to Michigan's second longest rail-trail, White Pine Trail State Park, which spans 93 miles from just north of Grand Rapids to Cadillac. Parking and Trail Access Parking is available at River Street Park, Hemlock Park (downtown), Swede Hill Park (Baldwin Street Bridge), and Northend Riverside Park (Trestle Bend Drive).
