With more than a passing resemblance to Taipei’s uber-cool Addiction Aquatic Development fish market, this large warehouse on Sukhumvit Soi 39 is Bangkok’s newest supermarket specializing in ocean delicacies. Front and center at Shinsen Fish Market are seawater tanks where you can see imported taraba crab, snow crab, lobster, scallops and sea urchin—all alive. Stepping inside, you can see fresh seafood and meat showcased to your right, which you can have prepared for you on the spot at the sashimi or grill bars. Other supermarket finds include cold cuts, cheese, frozen food, fruits, vegetables, snacks and beverages, while there are also a cafe and shabu shabu place on the second floor.
