The Louis Armstrong House was the home of Louis Armstrong and his wife Lucille Wilson from 1943 until his death in 1971.
Louis Armstrong lived in Corona, Queens when he was alive and his house is now a dedicated museum. For jazz-lovers, this museum is a must!
This is one of my favorite museums. Smack in the middle of our neighborhood is Louie's well preserved residence (where he lived his last years of life). The tour guides are great!
On the tour, audio clips from Louis's homemade recordings are played, and visitors hear Louis practicing his trumpet, listening to music, or talking with his friends. Visitors also get to enjoy an exhibit on Louis's life and legacy, and the Armstrongs' beautiful Japanese-inspired garden.
