Take a boat trip under the Iconic Forth Rail Bridge & journey to the lovely island of Inchkeith. Plenty of opportunities for spotting seals & dolphins, and puffins on the island.

When we have friends come to stay this would be our big day out - so awesome to see Edinburgh from the sea! Catch the ferry from South Queensferry (check out Groupon for any deals with the Three Bridges & Inchcolm Island cruise). Inchcolm Abbey is a Historic Scotland venue this would be a great addition to your stay if you are visiting Edinburgh Castle so get the Explorer pass.

This requires a ferry from S Queensferry. A truly wonderful trip. Beware of marauding, protective mother herring gulls.

Take a ferry to Inchcolm island ('inch' means island!) and be in the middle of the Firth of Forth. Frequent sightings of seals and information about the Forth Bridge as you sail underneath.
