Not far out of town and totally remarkable landscape near the Rio Grande. Maybe 20-25 miles, but takes about 45 minutes as there is an 8-10 mile unpaved washboard road. Totally worth the trip as it is spectacular and unusual. You can walk through the canyon and see some of the many folks who do mountain climbing on the spectacular rock formations, about 3 mile hike to the Rio Grande. Take lots of water.

Great scene right outside of town. I didn't know it was there for years. Beautiful canyon and you can hike down to the Rio Grande or rock climb
