Roger Williams National Memorial
Founder of Rhode Island and champion of freedom of conscience and religion and the first separation of church and state.
Nice place to walk the dogs (lots of garbage cans and doggie bags available!), get some sun and read a little history of Providence and Roger Williams.
Point of Interest
“The Providence Ghost Tours is a fantastic tour around the East Side. The tour guides are really enthusiastic and knowledgeable about local history. It lasts around 90 minutes and you will see the most beautiful historical homes in the city. ”

“Many speakers have graced the pulpit here whether preaching or reading from their latest novel or collection of poems.”
“College Hill, or how the general area is called - East Side (not to be confused with the more suburban, East Providence) is home to most of the Brown University and RISD campuses. The area is known for its more stablished artistic vibe, Ivy League history, and beautiful old architecture. There are also a number of antique shops in the neighborhood for afternoon treasure hunts. One can easily find great restaurants on Wickenden Street, Thayer Street, and Wayland Square. ”
“Walking distance from the studio. Excellent spot if you love Korean and Japanese. Love the Kimbab and the Katsu. This group also operates a Korean Fried Chicken place a short drive away. Highly encourage you to visit there as well. ”
