Located about 10 miles southwest of beautiful Port Gibson, the ruins consist of 23 standing Corinthian columns of the largest Greek Revival antebellum mansion ever built in the state.

Great Stop for Architecture and History Buffs Twenty-three columns are all that's left of the masion that survived the Civil War only to burn down in the late 1800's because of a carelessly tossed cigarette butt. It's remote location discourages many travelers, so you may have the ruins all to yourself, expecially on weekdays. Photographers can get some excellent shots here, but those who stray into the woods should be alert to snakes, poison ivy, and sometimes ticks and chiggers. Go prepared for these possibilities and take your own drinking water. There is signage on Highway 552 and on Rodney Road where you turn into a gravel drive.
