Hole-in-the-wall spot only open for lunch. Casual sushi take-out. Fresh. Classic spot downtown along the shore, Ali'i Drive.
Not really dining, but for take-out sushi, the local favorite is “You Make The Roll”, aka Hayashi’s, a little hard to find hole-in-the-wall. It's a bit of a time commitment, as there's always a line and they don't take phone orders. Our favorites are Ninja Star, Big Island Roll, and Spicy Tuna. Or…
Great sushi that you can call out your list of ingredients and he'll make it on the spot for you. Wait times can be a long as AN HOUR, but people do wait for it.
sushi so good! Crazy hours and off the beaten path. But if you can get in and out in time you will be stoked!
So GOOD! Not your traditional Sushi but a local favorite. They are so busy they usually have their closed sign out! haha… No joke. No phone orders anymore either. You should go in, make your order, go do some errands, and come back. If they say 20 min… give them 40 min.
“Best poke bowls! Lots of locals come here. The seafood tacos are pretty amazing too. There are two locations and both of them are great.”
“If you're craving Indian food, head to Kamana Kitchen tucked back in Waterfront Row. All its dishes are freshly made right after you place you orders and they canl customize to satisfy every palate’s request.”
“Holualoa is an artsy town just miles from here full of galleries, yummy coffee and places to eat”
“Best snorkeling around! Shallow reef with tons of gorgeous fish and turtles. On the north side of the bay there's an entry point for surfers and stand up paddle boarders (and a rental/instruction place across the street).”
