Great hiking trail. At the top you can see both Anchorage and Eagle River. Easy to moderate hike. Keep in mind part of the road up is on Army land and from time to time they close the road for active training exercises. Best to check ahead of time to be sure. Gate also closes at 10pm every night.

Fantastic spot for hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter! The hiking trails range from short and easy enough for small children to long and challenging for those looking for a bigger adventure.

Great hiking and berry picking trails in summer. $5 per vehicle to park. Can access Rendezvous Peak and quickly get a lovely view of the surrounding area and Eagle River Valley. 30-40 min. drive.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is a close-by mountain with ski lifts but no grooming. In the summer, locals go here to pick berries and hike around in a lovely valley with great visibility.

Lift access backcountry skiing with a low-key local vibe. Open Saturdays and Sundays. Great place for hiking in the summer too!
