The only synagogue that survived the Kristallnacht (crystal night). It was saved because of the risk of the fire spreading.

Rykestrasse Synagogue, Germany's largest synagogue, is located in the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood in the Pankow borough of Berlin. Johann Hoeniger (de) built the synagogue in 1903/1904.
