Beautiful for hiking all year round. It has an area for mountain biking that is good to check too.

No elevation but an excellent trail for a casual hike or mountain bike ride. The winding trails could easily take all day if you walk all of them. A few nice outlooks or places to stop and take in the view. Bring bug spray in the summer.

The South March Highlands are a network of trails maintained by the Ottawa Mountain Biking Association, but frequently used for hiking, walking, fatbiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing. OMBA has done a great job maintaining the bike trails, but in doing so, they have made the trails much more technical than the average rider might expect.

You’ll find this conservation forest in North Kanata with plenty of trails to explore. Enjoy walking or biking through with plenty of beautiful views along the way. This 457-hectare forested nature preserve offers hiking, mountain biking & more. The South March Highlands is a unique area in Ottawa. It features outcroppings of the Canadian Shield as well as numerous wetland areas. Visitors to the area enjoy mountain biking, hiking, trail running, dog walking, and orienteering in the summer and for X-C skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The South March Highlands is bounded by Huntmar Road, Old Carp Road, 2nd Line Rd and the railway. There are 2 main access points currently used. One is at the intersection of Klondike Road and 2nd Line Rd; the other is at the intersection of Brady Ave and 2nd Line Rd. The trail system in the South March Highlands has natural links to the gravel recreational pathways in North Kanata.
