Lovely market town with independent shops, a couple of decent restaurants, Leonards at 39 and No 3. The Royal has a large outdoor terrace with stunning views. Nice walks on the riverbank.

Ross town is very picturesque, with its old building and beautiful church. It has lovely and friendly pubs and restaurants, quaint little shops shops and cafes where most welcome dogs, with dog treats and water bowl. And there are lovely walks along the river wye.

A scenic journey up the Wye Valley to reach the historic and charming town of Ross-On-Wye. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch and refreshments on the terrace of The Royal Hotel for views over the River Wye.

Herefordshire is a big county and the market town of Ross on Wye is located in the southern region, some 40 minutes drive away from Whitney on Wye. It is said the historic market town was the birthplace of tourism in 1770. Its river location makes it popular for canoeing and fishing and there is a riverside walk. If you are hungry, Avelino's Italian restaurant is a personal recommendation.
