The Geelong Waterfront is one of Australia's most stunning waterfronts. Having started from humble beginnings when Geelong was founded as a port in 1836, the Waterfront has now attracted a series of prestigious awards. This cosmopolitan and vibrant area is a hive of activity with restaurants and cafes, beautiful landscaped gardens, attractions and public art, all with amazing views of Corio Bay. It also provides a full events calendar, tourism, education and accommodation services: Our historic Carousel, Poppy Kettle playground and youth activities area is great for kids of all ages. See Geelong's famous bollards. There are plenty of possibilities to explore and view the Waterfront: take a ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, ride the trackless train if you prefer a more leisurely look around, check out the view from the air in a helicopter or take a boat cruise along Geelong's spectacular Waterfront. Port Phillip Ferries are offering a service from Geelong Waterfront to the Docklands and Portarlington.  When the weather heats up, cool off on the Waterfront at the Eastern Beach swimming promenade. Children's pool, enclosed sea baths, diving platforms, all patrolled by lifeguards on duty during the summer months.

Barcode Fountain - situated along the waterfront near popular bar Edge, this fountain uses stainless steel to showcase a barcode from one of Geelong’s icon products: Noddys soft drink. Especially impressive at night with its blue strip lighting. Cargo Boxes – while at the Barcode Fountain, you may also see some crates. However these are no regular crates, on a closer inspection, you will see that each one contains something different inside. Being shackled feet, fruits or rabbits, the crates symbolise the different vessels that came to Geelong and the different things they brought with them. Created by artists Maggie Fookes and Bill Perrin in 2000, they too light up the night. Paving Splats - created by the same artists are these unique and interesting stainless steel and cast inlays that depict important and locally made objects. What a way to jazz up the regular and boring old pavement. North – whether you think they resemble sails or fins you are correct, these seven giant sculptures tower over you at two to three metres high. Made from cast cement panels, no two are positioned on the same frame, making it a fun and interchanging sculpture when moving within and around.
