The Art Museum has always been one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. I love the location, very walkable. Actually if you have time to.spare I would recommend renting a bike (Belmont/Parkside) and taking a ride through Fairmount Park along MLK Drive and checking out the Water Works which is…
Close to downtown Philadelphia many picture opportunities, many historic buildings and figures, many trails, many parks, many museums
Gorgeous spit to walk, bike, or run along the Delaware River. The art museum is a nice spot to visit while you are here.
This neighborhood hosts The Eastern State Penn (ESP)--a historical site to behold. Nearby restaurants for drinks, food, and ice cream combine with relatively easier parking to make this neighbor fun... save for October when ESP hosts the scariest haunted house in the region!
“One of history's most famous symbols of freedom and justice is a must-see when in the city! Surrounded by other historic monuments and sights which makes it an easy day trip!”
“Awesome neighborhood very close for a drive, uber ride or if utilizing public transportation. Many organic and halal food locations, as well as other local small businesses”
“A great place for locals and visitors, especially if the weather is bad out. An overwhelming selection of food stands and restaurants, mixed in with shops along with produce and butchers, fishmongers, and other sources for a great home cooked meal. On Saturdays the Amish bring their goods as well. Prepare to spend a few hours here, and come hungry! On top of that Chinatown is across the street, if you're in the mood for asian food. Not just Chinese, but Japanese, Korean, and Burmese as well.”
“Largest of four city parks offering great shopping (off Walnut street) and dining options. Pop into Parc for a bite and a cocktail at Steven Starr's flagship Art deco-inspired French Eatery (18th/Locust). Or simply sit on a park bench and enjoy people-watching (and puppy-watching). Grab a book at Joseph Fox's Bookstore (Walnut/17th) and settle into La Colombe (Walnut/19th) for an unforgettable cup of coffee.”
“Founded in honor of America’s first scientist, Benjamin Franklin, The Franklin Institute is one of the oldest and premier centers of science education and development in the country. Great exhibits for children and adults to enjoy!”
