The Speech House Hotel is a former 17th-century hunting lodge set in the heart of the idyllic Royal Forest of Dean. It offers all level of dining experience – from a relaxed light meal, to a fine dining experience. The hotel has been awarded 1 AA Rosette and prides itself on sourcing quality local produce wherever possible. The Orangery and bar provides a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy some traditional pub food after a day’s business, sightseeing, or a dog walk in the forest. The Orangery is dog and children friendly. If you are looking for a more formal dining experience, the beamed Verderer’s Court is an á la carte restaurant and reflects the room’s continuing use as a courthouse for the Forest of Dean Verderers. Dietary requirements are catered for, with a range of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

The old verderers' court now a hotel and restaurant. There is a pleasant conservatory at the back and garden to enjoy a morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. There are lots of walks into the forest from here. Check out Cyril Hart Arboretum, some of the Sculpture Trail and Worsgreen Lake.
