It used to be a village, concentrated around the well in the middle of the site, but now it is a small town, with banks, supermarkets, schools, etc. The old village exists, but is located outside the current center, hidden behind the modern buildings facing the main road, ending in the lanes that lead under the sandy beach. There are many taverns, bars and shops here, so many that the locals no longer need to travel to the city of Corfu, almost everything can be found at their door! Along the coast is a water park aimed at children of all ages, and then the nature reserve of St. Spyridon, with a lake containing many species of wildlife, a place of great interest to the naturalist Gerald Durrell, who stayed here for a short time.

It's easy to park in Acharavi as you park on the street, and there's good access to a selection of supermarkets, shops, restaurants & bars. You can get your laundry done at Bubbles behind Ilo Ilo cafe.
