If you like history, there is plenty to be found in the Catskills. Several amazing mansions and extreme hotels have been built here by the NY High Society, with many mansions constructed by the famous NYC and Hamptons architects like Delano & Aldrich. Call ahead to see if they have tables available and that they are not booked for a private event (a good number of weddings are held here). DMI has a gorgeous property, friendly staff and tends to be (at least pre-pandemic) off the radar of a lot of people despite being a place where a lot of magazines and influencers like to do photo shoots. They often have visiting Chefs and ever changing menu as a result. Food can also be really great or so so depending on who the chef is in any particular week. Prices are on the higher side but not outrageous. Crowd tends to be a mix of people ranging from normal nondescript to hipster to local country club type and that in a way makes it feel not too stuffy because of the random mix of people that show up at DMI.

If you’re celebrating an occasion or just feeling fancy, this is the place to go for dinner. The chef is rocking a well-deserved Michelin star, and the woody hillside location makes for pretty views and a romantic setting. And still just a quick drive from Main Street, Tannersville. Dinner is on the high-end pricewise, but their weekend brunch is more accessible and absolutely top notch. We highly recommend it!
