This is across the valley about an hour away. Site of oldest volcano caldera, unusual rock formations and a small arch carved out by wind and water over time.

Beautiful hiking trails in and around the canyon. A popular spot for rock climbers. Stop for lunch in Monte Vista.

If you're a rock climber you won't want to miss a visit to Penitente. It's also wonderful for day hikes. Really neat rock formations.
