Beautiful spot and the only lake in Scotland. You can go fishing or a small boat out to the island. Or have lunch at the Lake Hotel which is on the water's edge and has wonderful views over the Lake. Wonderful sunsets.

Set on an island in the Lake of Menteith (the only ‘lake’ in Scotland), Inchmahome is an idyllically-situated Augustinian monastery dating from 1238. Much of the 13th century building remains. Historic Scotland operates a ferry. As well as the monastery ruins there is a walk around the island. It is a great place to take a picnic lunch. There are toilets.

Beautiful spots on lakeside to watch sun set & swim. Great for skating when frozen. Beautiful scenery & place to observe Ospreys. See also: Inchmahome priory.
