Cologne's internationally renowned Zoological Garden features over 7000 animals of more than 700 species, an attached aquarium and invertebrate exhibit on more than 20 hectares. Founded in 1860, the zoo also has a free-flight rainforest hall with free-ranging birds and reptiles and a large elephant park. Cologne's Botanical Garden "Flora" is located adjacent to the zoo and is open daily without charge. The botanical garden cultivates nearly 10000 types of plants. About 5000 species are presented in four exhibition greenhouses.

The famous Cologne Zoo. A must see with kids. Cable Car connection crossing the river Rhein to the Rheinpark (voted in 2011 as Germanys most beautiful public park)
