8-minute drive. Lawrenceville (and other locations). Considered by many the best French Bakery in town. Not long ago there were no French bakeries here; now we can argue about which of several is the best. Almond croissants addictive.
Right down at the bottom of 46th street is a French bakery called La Gourmandine. They have wonderful authentic French pastries.
